The ARTSY Umbilical Cord Catheterization Trainer is a realistic neonatal clinical skills simulator designed for the Kaumarbhritya (Bala Roga) Department of BAMS colleges. It enables students to develop practical competency in Umbilical Venous Catheterization (UVC) and Umbilical Arterial Catheterization (UAC), essential procedures performed in neonatal intensive care and emergency newborn management. The trainer provides a safe, realistic, and repeatable learning environment where students can practice catheter insertion techniques before performing them in clinical settings.
Designed in accordance with Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) and NCISM/MESAR 2024 guidelines, the simulator features an anatomically accurate neonatal umbilical cord with simulated umbilical vessels, allowing learners to understand vascular anatomy, catheter insertion, aseptic techniques, and catheter fixation.
